BLOCKCHAIN WEEK NY: GENERAL CONSENSUS ANNO 2019 This May marked one of the most important international events for the crypto industry: Blockchain Week was successfully held in New York, USA, highlighted by the main conference of the week – Consensus 2019, held May 13 to 17 at the New York Hilton Midtown. As always, MARK.SPACE representatives were present during this much awaited come together, and have put together a short summary of the main topics of this years’ discussion. If you’ve been following the latest crypto news, you’ll understand why “The End of the Crypto Winter” was one of the main topics. With bitcoin and other crypto assets going up to 50% in the past month, there was a lot of general positive sentiment about this topic. Coincidentally or not, the next big thing on everyone’s minds was “The Continuous Institutionalization of the Crypto Industry”. We noticed a very positive trend, as the crypto industry is definitely being more institutionalized. VIRTUAL EXHIBITION AS INSPIRATION FOR YOUR OWN CREATIVE IDEAS! Ready for another cool VR inspiration? We’ve created a virtual photo and video exhibition dedicated to the Hakone Open-Air Museum! It’s Japan's first open-air museum, opened in 1969 in Hakone in Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It has collections of artworks made by Picasso, Henry Moore, Taro Okamoto, Yasuo Mizui, Churyo Sato, and many others, featuring over a thousand sculptures and works of art. The museum is affiliated with the Fujisankei Communications Group media conglomerate. MARK.SPACE Platform Update: SCREEN SYNCHRONIZATION We decided that today should not only be productive, but also bring along good news. In this regard, today we’ll tell you about a new platform feature – screen synchronization! The new feature allows to display everything that the user sees in the cardboard (into which a smartphone is placed) on a second screen. This means that the platform already allows to easily start using virtual reality for educational and auxiliary purposes: for example, during exhibitions, presentations, or just because. To enable this feature, you must simultaneously log into the same MARK.SPACE account on your smartphone and PC. Attention: for the screen synchronization feature to operate correctly, you cannot log into your account simultaneously from two computers and two smartphones (that is, from four different devices). Only two sessions are allowed – one PC and one smartphone. If the image is shaky, you should rotate your smartphone 180 degrees. The latter is a feature of some smartphones (not the MARK.SPACE platform), due to the built-in spatial orientation modules, also known as digital gyroscopes. MOVING OBJECTS WITH YOUR HEAD?! MARK.SPACE INTRODUCES NEW FEATURES Say what, again? That’s right, our developers have been busy bees, as always, and will soon make it possible for users to manage and move objects in VR spaces by simply turning their head. Here’s how this awesome new feature works, in bullet points: - The new feature will be available for use with any cardboard that allows to put in your smartphone for VR mode viewing. - In order to manage an object, all is needed is to focus the cursor on it, positioning the object in the middle of the screen. This will “activate” the chosen object, the same way if you would click on it with the cursor of your mouse. - You can rotate the object and examine it from all sides by tilting and/or turning your head, thereby focusing the cursor on the edges of the object. The object will begin to rotate on its axis, left-right, up and down. Again, in the same way if you were to use your mouse cursor. - The head movement control feature will also work when moving through VR spaces. Just set your cursor on where you want to move. Focus the cursor in the center of the box border area, when moving through boxes. - Furthermore, the same functionality works for easy photo and video screen viewing. To do this, you need to focus the cursor on a photo or video of your choice. To summarize: focusing your cardboard cursor kind of repeats the click of a mouse. By focusing on the borders (edges) of the object of our choice, we rotate the object and repeat cursor movements in VR mode on our PC. This feature supports and simplifies orientation and work in VR spaces. In the very near future (stay tuned for updates!) we will launch head movement control, and after, we’ll continue to improve on it. The functionality of this feature will directly depend on the processing power and the amount of free RAM on your device – 4 GB, optimally, but it will also work on smartphones with a 2 GB RAM, albeit a little slower.
